Together We Can Run

A friend reminded me of this verse last week after my root canal drama, and it so encouraged my heart, I wanted to share it with all of you with the hope that it encourages you, too!

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (1 Peter 5:10)

I’m so thankful to all who have encouraged me this summer during one of my busiest seasons yet (and it’s still going strong!)  I believe there are times when we all need extra encouragement and I’m very grateful for the friends and family who gave me just that!  Selling a house, a root canal, a long t-ball season, beginning homeschool, plus the regular activities of a household with 3 boys made for an interesting and busy summer.  But looking back, I know that my strength was in the Lord and there is absolutely no way I could come this far without leaning on my Savior. I also realize how important it is to surround oneself with the kind of friends who lift you up in prayer, lend a listening ear, and encourage you every chance they get.  Friends are a wonderful gift from the Lord.  And so I’ll leave you with the words of Rebecca St. James’ “I’ll Carry You” to explain, and a BIG FAT THANK YOU for being my friend!

“I know that look in your eyes
I see the pain behind your smile
Please don’t hold it all inside
Together we can run
To the finish line
And when you are tired
I’ll carry you

I can’t walk this road without you
You cannot go it alone
We were never meant to make it on our own
When the load becomes heavy
And your feet too tired to walk
I will carry you and we’ll be carried on

Share your burden now
I will listen
And when I’m weak
Will you hold me to the truth
That we can go on, for we are carried
Three strands of chord
Cannot be easily torn…

I can’t walk this road without you
You cannot go it alone
We were never meant to make it on our own
When the load becomes heavy
And your feet too tired to walk
I will carry you and we’ll be carried on

God will carry us

Before I say one more word
Hear me say I love You
My love comes from a heart that overflows
With love Who fills me
Comforts me
Comforts you,
With arms stretched out He said,
“I’ll carry you”

I can’t walk this road without you
You cannot go it alone
We were never meant to make it on our own
When the load becomes heavy
And your feet too tired to walk
I will carry you and we’ll be carried on”
